Trondheim

Trondheim is a city and municipality in Sør-Trøndelag county with a population of 173,486 people. It is the third most populous municipality and city in the country, although the fourth largest metropolitan area. The settlement was founded in 997 as a trading post, and was the capital of Norway during the Viking Age (!!!) until 1217. It's a beautiful city, filled with old historical buildings, charm and amazing architecture. I've been in love with the city since I was 16, and I go back every so often to visit friends and family. It's very popular to move there and become a student, and people tend to stick around after, completely smittened by the warmth of the people and the carisma of the city. I've been on the verge of moving there many times, and who knows, maybe some day I'll end up there, but for now I'm content with just visiting every so often. Here are some pictures of my recent trip there. Good company, lotsa drinks, good time:)

Yeah, vikings eat sushi too...

Statue wannabees?

The beautiful nidaros cathedral, with it's incredible architecture.

Adam and Eve!

No additional comment needed....:)

On the way home from the nightlife of Trondheim I just had to take pictures of the steam rising off the Nidaros river.

The church where my biological grandfather is buried, at Melhus, outside of Trondheim. Beautiful!

Flying in over Bodø

Flying in to our airport can be quite spectacular if you've got a good view and nice weather. I've always bragged about this to my friends abroad, and yesterday I got a golden oportunity to document it. Fun story actually, I was on a long weekend trip to Trondheim, to visit friends and family and have som superfuntime, and our train home got cancelled! They put in buses to get us home, but it's a 10-12 hour busride, and I was NOT happy with this, so I pampered myself with a planeticket. I hope you like the view as much as I do. I'll post some pics from my Trondheim trip here shortly, too.
