Northeren lights!

Tonight we had a reDONKulous spectacle of real badass northeren lights. I took these myself, and although I'm not yet very good at taking nighttime shots, you get the idea. I don't have a tripod for my camear yet, so I have to keep very still, and it's real hard when the lights move around so much, but so beautiful. These pics don't capture all the greens and pinks in their full glory, you really just have to experience it. I friggin love this country!

Spending my first days of vacation here at Levanger with my fellah, and his family. It's alot warmer then back home, but the water is still a bit nippy:-)

The Shire

Alot of Norwegian countryside features scenery with uncanning resemblance to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Which is probably why I love it so much:-)

I lose my faith in humanity one stupid hype at a time:-P Then again, at 5 in the morning, after sitting up all night trying to come up with a new product maybe I would agree: "who would'nt want a bunnytail on their iphone?":-P Thank you, that will be all!

Americanization

So my favourite Hershey's bar just turned up at a shop in Trondheim. Which makes me happy, as it is the only Hershey's bar I like:-) Also I found another familiar product (PB&J) on our shelves around easter, and Pop-tarts made their first appearance last year. Although they are ridiculously overpriced and I refuse to buy them, I don't mind this trend of importing known american brands, since it gives fuel to my certainty that IHOP will one day, one sweet, sweet day, find it's way to Norwegian soil. *sigh* just imagine those fluffy pancakes with a touch of viking...and maybe some brown cheese...*drewl* A special thanks goes out to Miss Betty Crocker for all her instant diabetes..I mean..baking products. So tasty!

Winter scenery

Took some pictures at work one morning this week. The sun was playing around with the skies, making pretty colors:) Fantastic way to start you day. At the bottom there are some videos of the event. I apologize that the quality does not do the actual phenomenon justice:)

Meet Aurora

The past 4 days we've had beautiful cold weather here in the north. With it comes the glorious presence of my friend Aurora Borealis, commonly known as northeren - or arctic - lights. Here are some pics that have been popping up all around facebook the last couple of days. This phenomenon is pretty hard to catch on camera, and I admire those who have the ability and patience to capture it for the rest of us to enjoy. These were taken about 2 hours north of where I live. Purdy!

I posted a video of the lights below, captured on film january 21st and 22nd. Pretty amazing, if I may say so myself.
